For now, please submit your session proposal or short statement via email to aos@arcticobserving.com and include the following information in the body of the email:

  • Submission type: Short statement or session proposal
  • Working Group (for short statement submissions):
    • Working Group 1: Regional to Global Observing
    • Working Group 2: Data Sharing
    • Working Group 3: System Implementation/SAON ROADS
    • Working Group 4: Observing System Benefits
    • OTHER: Other high-priority issues for Arctic observing
  • Title of submission
  • First and last name
  • Email of lead author
  • Institution, organization or general address of lead author

Submission Guidelines

Submissions must be in PDF format. Maximum file size is 10 MB.

Short Statements
• Maximum 4 pages
• List all coauthors, affiliations, institutions and contact information
• Identify a main contact
• Title should be descriptive
• First paragraph should indicate the objective or topic of the statement
• May include figures, tables and references 
• Document and reference formatting should follow the style guidelines of the journal Arctic
Session Proposals
• Title of the session
• Convening group with contact information. Early career and Indigenous conveners and co-conveners are especially encouraged.
• 1–3 goals for the session – on what topics do you want to generate recommendations?
• Requested amount of time (Short: 1.5 hours, Medium: 2.5 hours, Long: 4 hours; these are not guaranteed, but we will try to accommodate shorter or longer sessions if possible)
• Session description (≤ 200 words), including major goals and discussion questions
• It is recommended to also submit a short statement as a companion to the session (use category: OTHER)
